Mr.F. Lim A Postraat

The Mr.F. Lim A Postraat is one of the finest detailed streets of Paramaribo. Unfortunately the buildings are difficult to be admired in their full glory since the street is very narrow so the beholder can not keep enough distance to the object. The buildings have a lot of subtle details. Because the Surinamese timber architecture style is a very sober one in concept, carpenters could only mark their signature on the details of a building. The brick stoops also give evidence of fantasy and craftmanship.
The Lim A Postraat used to be part of the Heerenstraat, the western section past the Kerkplein still bears that name.
